The American Reflexology Certification Board (ARCB), is a nationally recognized for hand reflexology certification, and you have to be approved by ARCB. The ARCB contains seven board of directors, that aren't connected to any schools or government agencies. The directors are completely voluntary, and to keep the integrity, they are elected to their position. They also serve as a median for upcoming companies, and they can apply for approval through them, which will earn them creditability.

To keep the hand reflexology certification up to date, continuing education is required. Twelve hours per year is the requirement to keep your certification valid. Keep in mind that the ARCB isn't a license; it's a nationaly recognized certificate that shows your high standards for practice. The hand reflexology certification is new, and there is a prerequisite for taking this exam. In order to qualify for this exam, you must already have a foot reflexology certification. Hand reflexology is becoming more popular, and because of this, in 2008 they added this certification.
