The Center For Universal Reflexology - Reflexology Courses
Reflexology-Healing the Body and Soul.
The Connecticut Center for Reflexology offers an eight week program designed to give theoretical teaching along with hands on experience. The course meets once a week (alternating Saturdays and Sundays) with a brief orientation/introduction meeting the night before classes and deals in the overall foundation of the trade. The actual classes go from 9:30-5:00 (with a lunch break). Making it a total of 52 clock hours and an additional 130 clinical hours outside of the class. Each class is very individualized because of the small number of students per class (a maximum of eight).
The Connecticut Center for Reflexology's school director and principal instructor is Christine Jensen D. C. C. R. T. With a Bachelor of Science and Biology/Chemistry from St. Joseph College, she continued her studies at New York chiropractic college and graduated with a Doctorate in Chiropractic in 1990. After that, she enrolled at the Center for Universal and Holistic Studies in Worcester, Mass. And graduated a Reflexologist in 1998. She is nationally certified by the ARCB, is a member of the Reflexology Association of America and the New England Association of Reflexology. She is the sole proprietor of the school.
Reflexology has been practiced for centuries as a form of natural healing. It's an effective and gentle way to maintain one's health. It is known for building and maintaining the immunity system, which is the key component to staying illness free. It is also quite remarkable at relieving stress which induces relaxation. Relaxation is a vital element for a person's health; thusly, it is an excellent way to become (and stay) healthy.
There are other companies that give instruction on the techniques of reflexology if you're not in that area. They are nationwide (including Canada). Some of the other schools have similar programs (there are too many to list, you might want to look up one in your area if these don't satisfy your needs) , but each school is as unique as the practice itself. SOHMAR (School of Holistic Message and Reflexology) is owned and instructed by Michael McAleese and his wife Star in Downer Grove, IL, and has been open since 1994. He gives instruction in the fields of Reflexology and Sports Message. His teachings bring together the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of the trade. Touchpoint Reflexology is owned and instructed by Yvette Eastman in Vancouver Canada. Her school has been open for over 35 years and deals with numerous facets of the field. Some of the special techniques she teaches include Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Touch for Health and even Pawspoint Reflexology for animals (along with several others). The Reflexology Science Institute is run by Berit Nilsson in Columbus, OH. Practicing since 1975, her school teaches Advanced/Body Reflexology, (Intro) Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Energy Release, Myo-Fascial Release and Reiki. Those are just a few of the numerous schools, and types, there are to choose from.
Classes tend to fill quickly due to the ratio of student-teacher. If you are interested check out the center's website at www. Universalreflexology. Net/ccur. Html and you will get all the information you need to get started on the path of healing one's body and soul.
